Emissions data is financial-grade information. Every layer of the platform runs on AWS-managed infrastructure that meets the compliance standards your clients, auditors, and regulators expect — not as a future roadmap item, but as a baseline.
Managed identity & MFA
Authentication is handled by Amazon Cognito — an AWS-managed identity service certified to SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. Multi-factor authentication (TOTP) is enforced for administrator and auditor accounts. Adaptive risk-based challenges automatically flag unusual sign-in behaviour before it reaches your data.
Private-subnet database
All emissions, financial, and organisational data is stored in Amazon RDS PostgreSQL, provisioned inside a private VPC subnet with no public internet endpoint. Access is restricted to application services running in the same virtual network. Data is encrypted at rest using AWS Key Management Service (KMS) and in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
Edge protection & WAF
Every request to the platform passes through Amazon CloudFront backed by AWS Web Application Firewall. OWASP Top 10 managed rule sets, DDoS mitigation, per-IP rate limiting, and geo-based access controls are enforced at the network edge — before traffic reaches any application server.
Centralised secrets management
No credentials, API keys, or certificates are stored in application code, configuration files, or environment variables baked into deployment artefacts. All secrets are managed by AWS Secrets Manager, which provides fine-grained IAM access controls, automatic rotation policies, and a full audit log of every retrieval via AWS CloudTrail.
